Using CFL's to grow medical marijuana with.

CFL grow lights have gotten a bad rap for indoor weed growing, but is it deserved? Is the pot any good?  To answer bluntly, yes you can. Not only can growers grow dank ass marijuana using powerful CFL units, but you can rival old style more expensive grow lights in yield and quality!

The proper way to use CFL's as grow lighting is how they are used. You've got to use tons of light. I mean LOTS of light. Buy lots of CFL's, they last forever and are still much cheaper than the alternative's. We recommend getting the SuperMax 2000 watt CFL grow unit from http://CFL-GrowLight.com.

  FLOWERING WITH CFL'S:

CFL's in the flowering cycle should be placed as close as 2” to the buds, while not ever being farther than 10” from the tops. Basically you'll want to keep your grow area to about 2 ½ feet to 3 ft under your grow lights for the best results.
Growers mistakenly use CFL's just like HiD's or HPS lights and expect the same yield. That mayachieved by using the CFL grow lights for maximum yield. CFL's don’t penetrate as far as HiD or HPS grow lights do because of the lower Lumen count, but in the first few feet of light, CFL grow systems can exceed HiD, and HPS units systems in USABLE light. Meaning the CFL grow lights spit out less overall light or lumen, however more lumen in spectrum’s that pot plants need. So, newer growing methods such as, scrogging, pinching, sea of green, and lollipoping are much recommended when using CFL grow lights. As a matter of fact whether your using old HPS lights or low energy lights such as CFL's, those methods are still highly recommended. Even using HiD's, or HPS units, the bud under three feet tends to be wispy, popcorny and unsuitable for medical use.

GROWTH STAGE:

The jury is in! CFL grow lights for veg are the most powerful inexpensive vegetation lamps in the world. Period.
I'll explain further. Roughly, at least 50% of all indoor farmers still use T-8 or T-5 fluorescent tube systems for their weed plants during the growth cycle with fantastic results. Fluorescent are widely believed to be the closest man made light to natures sunlight. Its understandable why tanning beds use fluorescent light, it makes the most sense. CFL's or compact fluorescent lights are the same type of light but in a smaller more intense package. cheap cfl grow light bulbs are easier to place, and give extreme lighting in the same place over traditional T-8 or T-5's.
Plenty of older 400 watt and 650 watt T-8's and T-5's have done a pretty good job, using a 1400 watt or 2000 watt CFL growlight unit makes a lot more sense. With one of those systems your getting 3 to 5 X's the lumen from a system with about the same initial cost. Lots of plant growers report having two to four inches of fresh growth in less than a day using powerful CFL grow lights.
